Andover, Roseau and Cretin-Derham Hall are 1-2-3 for the second consecutive week in the Class 2A MNHockey.TV Boys Power Rankings.
Moving up one spot from a week ago are Benilde-St. Margaret’s to No. 4, Hill-Murray to No. 5, Grand Rapids to No. 6 and Lakeville North to No. 9.
Moorhead leaped two spots to No. 7.
Lakeville South fell to No. 8, from No. 4, and formerly unranked Centennial is No. 10.
In Class 1A, Hermantown (13-1) maintained it’s season-long No. 1 spot following a 2-1 overtime home win against No. 2 Warroad (15-1).
Moving up in the rankings are No. 3 Delano (10-4), No. 4 Duluth Denfeld (12-4) and No. 8 Alexandria (6-4-1).
Moving down is No. 5 Little Falls (15-1), and holding their rankings are No. 6 Mahtomedi (7-7-2) and No. 7 Detroit Lakes (10-4-0).
No. 9 Fergus Falls (10-5-0) and No. 10 Albert Lea were unranked last week.
In the Girls Power Rankings, Andover (17-0-0) is ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and Warroad (15-2-1) in Class 1A.
Edina (16-1-0) moved up to No. 2, from third, in 2A, one spot ahead of Minnetonka (14-4-0) which fell from No. 2.
Elite players I’m following closely:
. Cretin-Hall senior power forward and scoring leader Drew Fisher, who has 36 points (15 goals) in 16 games including four goals and 10 points in his last two games.
. Andover junior forward Gavyn Thoreson, the Huskies scoring leader with 38 points (13 goals) in 16 games.
. Warroad junior forward Jayson Shaugabay, Minnesota’s assists leader with 33 through 16 games.
. Hermantown sophomore goaltender Dane Callaway (8-1-0, 1.21 gaa, .936), the Hawks’ go-to starter in big games and a rising Division I prospect.
